The Country Club will be operated by a Management Company owned by the family owned and operated businesses, Hopper Developments Ltd and Cabra Developments Ltd. This Company will employ staff to care for the needs of the residents. As the number of dwellings increases, staff numbers will increase to ensure that the requirements of residents can be met.
Residents will occupy their home under the terms of an Occupation Right Agreement, commonly referred to as an ORA. This gives the resident the right to occupy their particular dwelling and sets out the terms that both the resident and the operator have to comply with. The ORA and other documents that the Operator provides to residents, are governed by the Retirement Villages Act and have to be registered with the Register of Retirement Villages. The registration process ensures that the provisions of the Retirement Village Act are complied with and give security to every Village resident that their terms of occupancy cannot be arbitrarily changed, the Country Club Huapai is a registered retirement village. Intending residents are welcome to record their interest by contacting a Sales Representative and when the village is in a position to issue "Occupation Right Agreements" contact will be made with registered parties to determine their requirements.
The Country Club Huapai obtained Resource Consent in December 2017 and work to demolish the existing buildings has been completed. On-site construction has commenced and is planned to be developed in a number of stages.
The first housing in the village to be built comprises of 15 villas and construction is well underway with completion estimated in mid-2019. The first stage of the main building facility/apartment building will commence in 2019.
The first stage of the main building is to comprise of the reception, bar, restaurant, meeting facilities and 46 apartments on the upper levels. This is also planned to include the wellness centre with a luxurious indoor pool, spa and gym facility. The outdoor leisure area shall be landscaped with high quality plants and will include a bowling green.
Upon completion the community is planned to have 250+ dwellings, together with an aged care facility.
